Mike Royal started airbrushing at a young age. Bob Royal also an artist and Mike’s Father, would take him to the Autorama and other Car Shows and races. At one show Mike was wandering around and came across a guy airbrushing cars on tee shirts. Mike was instantly hooked. He ran back and grabbed his dad and told him this is what I want to do. That next week Bob purchased an airbrush off the tool truck at work. It was a Badger single action brush. This kind of brush is very limited on what you could do. However Mike started painting shirts for all of his friends in the front yard with this brush doing things that only can be done with a double action brush. The money started coming in and the hook was set. 30+ years later Mike is still airbrushing tee shirts but has expanded into just about every line of airbrushing you can do even digital.
As one of the top artist Mike has won several awards to include the Prestigious Painters Award for House of Kolor Automotive Paint. Has thrown away more best paint and best airbrush trophies than can be counted. After the awards started coming in the magazines started knocking. He has been published in most rags like Truckin, Street Trucks, Hot Rod, VW Trends, Hot Bike, National Dragster and so on.
E-How a web how to forum contacted Mike and produced 15 videos on the beginning airbrush techniques. After that Mike join the Fine Artist Registry and because he was the first airbrush artist they made several videos as well. All of these videos can be found on You Tube and by Googling Mike Royal Airbrushing.
Mike loves the art of airbrushing and wants to do what ever it takes to keep the art alive. His dream is to start a program to help detour kids from graffiti and running the streets to using their art for CONSTRUCTION not DESTRUCTION. Only problem is he keeps hitting walls trying to get to the right people to get started.
