Here are some samples of cool CARtoons I do. I grew up reading CARtoons. I guess you could say this was kinda like MY MAD magazine. I would set and draw everything I see in there. Would send them drawings but never see my work in the Readers Art section. As you can see I never gave up, wonder if they would post my stuff now if the magazine was still in print? Oh well I will just keep drawing my cars and havin fun at it. You can get you car, truck, bike what ever you have drawn just like this. 1949 Buick.

Here is my Pops 1949 Buick he built from just a shell to a show wining sled. Not sure exactly how many hours he put in it but it was a head turner. Had a 425 nail head in it with a ton of power (dont tell him how I know) I loved to drive this car. Its off to a new owner now, gonna miss this one. I painted it with a flat cream color and the scallops are candy apple red with a silver mini flake base. The scallops are glossy and the rest is semi gloss. The name of this car was party doll and I put a fitting mural on the trunk shown here.

The bike industry

With the economy as low as it is the custom bike industry has really taken a bight out of all of us. Once having several builders and individuals on the hook at all times and a steady flow of work has long become a memory for now. I still get a few and I am seeing more helmets now but it hasn’t begun to get as rabid as it was a few years ago. I mean large companies closing like 5150 and Deanos who we all looked up to really makes you think. I do however feel that 2012 is the year for the artist, and if you can stick it out you can easily become the next big custom shop and have all the kids look up to you now.

Hot As Hell

Steve Burkett from Surprise, Arizona purchased his 2008 GMC Yukon with the intention of driving it daily for his Real Estate business.

He decided to start customizing it and got hooked on turning his hobby into a passion. It is still daily driven to this day but has been through over 67,000 miles in less than 2 years as well as making appearances in many shows and even a Dr. Dre video.

Mike covered the Yukon with custom paint including House of Kolors Orion Silver Mixed with 1.5 oz of silver mini metal flake and Candy Apple Red mixed with 1.5 oz of silver mini flake was used to spray the flames. Mike also sprayed murals on the rear deck lid and then turned his artwork loose painting/airbrushing the entire engine compartment. Pinstriping around the flames was done by Ron Hernandez.

Goalie Masks How cool…

How much cooler can Goalie helmets get? I mean you can really go after the persons personality. With companies like Warwick Mask custom building them to fit like a glove and then I get the opportunity to bring them to life and smile the entire time doing it. Pictured is the latest mask I did for the Air Force Academy’s goalie Paul Moberg. This is the second one for them. I have also won Best Goalie Mask, also a Warwick for Quipiniac University in Connecticut. The thing I like most about painting the mask. specially for the younger kids, is to see their face light up when they see it for the first time (I think the adults/parents enjoy it more than the kid does) So when I see Gary from Warwick Mask name come up on my phone I get this tingling sensation and know this is going to be another fun one to do. Fine Art Registry took the time to shoot this video. I was very honored to be their Artist of the Month. The first airbrush artist to receive this honor. I think I was the first airbrush artist to become a member as well. This is an old video so don’t go running to Desert Sky Mall expecting to find me. I have since closed all of my stores except the one in Luke Air Force’s base exchange. I am working with Monster Paint FX to complete all of my automotive art work. This merely means I am using the shop to paint everything I can not paint at the store. The thing I like most about working with Troy is I get to share the work. Let him make a little money and I make a little money. I have decided I am not going to be so greedy these days and share the wealth. My goal is to do more helping others and not be so selfish.
